About [Edit]
Permaculture is a system of design, ethics and principles for sustainable living, based on the philosophy of co-operation with nature and caring for the earth and its people.
Permaculture is about creating sustainable human habitats by following nature's patterns. It uses the diversity, stability and resilience of natural ecosystems to provide a framework and guidance for people to develop their own sustainable solutions to the problems facing their world, on a local, national or global scale.
The Leeds Permaculture Network is a group of people interested in learning about and using permaculture to transform our local environment and living spaces within the city. We plan to have action days about once a month on different sites around Leeds, as well as monthly socials. We also hope to arrange skillshare and teaching sessions.
If you are working with local communities, or have an interest in the environment, if you are worried about climate change, peak oil or environmental destruction, if want to convert your vehicle to bio-diesel or live in an eco-friendly house, have some fun and meet new people or brush up on your professional sustainability skills, then it would be worth coming along.
