About  [Edit]

Introduction: Created on October 8th 2000, the idea of an association was born from the spirit of the youth from ONCF Moulay Ismail community. The lack of cultural, athletic and social infrastructures had been the key inspirations towards this dream.

Background: The association was launched under the name ADECA (Association of Education, Culture and Art of Tomorrow). Upon September 14th 2003, ADECA changed its name to Association Action Jeunesse in order to target a specified slice of the population and better publicize its services to satisfy the needs of the youth.

Objectives: To create engaging Social, Cultural, and Athletic activities. To establish and sustain collaboration among an array of organizations. To maintain active involvement, community activities and demonstrations. To sensitize the youth to the importance of civic participation.

Activities:

Social Involvement · Sporting Events o Tournoi Ramadan.

The reason of this tournament during the holy month is to give the youth a challenge and to reinforce the religious fabric of society. For two consecutive years this tournament has been a great success, with over 320 participants. In a showing of our dedication to our country, we have organized this tournament to meet our goals of personal development and team spirit.

Sports Clubs Field Hockey club at the senior, junior and cadet level with both boys and girls in partnership with the FRMH, (Royal Moroccan Hockey Federation). Soccer league managed by 6 personnel for 200 boys age 16 and under. In order to provide inspiration and a sense of commitment to the young players we hold tournaments followed by award ceremonies. This is a chance for the community to recognize the diligence of the player’s hard work. In addition to this men’s basketball team, we offer girl’s basketball. In the afternoons there is physical training and organized basketball games among the pre-teen girls in the community with experienced coaches. The space is also open to the neighborhood during the day for pick-up games. Trick-Biking (Introduced as of June 20th, 2004) Along with bmx-bikes, youths are invited to bring their bikes and roller skates.

Cultural, Educational, and Civic Action.

Outings On April 7th 2002, 50 students spent they day at TEMARA Zoo as well the HASSAN Tower to better know their country’s monuments. On July 7th 2004, a group of 26 students enrolled in our English courses, ventured to Dar America, for a free screening of the film “Zoolander” with their teacher, Dana Humphrey from the United States. It was a chance for the teens to see the practicality of the language they are learning, check-out American culture and learn new vocabulary. Education Illiteracy is a social epidemic across third world countries. Our association has committed to fight against this epidemic by joining forces with the MEN (Ministry of National Education). We aim to significantly reduce the illiteracy rate and heighten the cultural level of our citizens. We have already seen great success in our first two terms- with over 400 women having benefited from our program. We have since made a reduced-price internet service available to introduce kids to novel information and communication technologies. We acknowledge the fact that English is an ever increasingly important language around the world. We have taken the initiative to offer free English classes for the students in our community in collaboration with AIESEC’s Salaam Program, a joint venture with the U.S. State Departments bureau of educational and cultural affairs. We have been able to accommodate over 75 students with five groups of classes in the summer of 2004. Through language they are able to learn about American culture first hand with songs, games, stories, movies and vocabulary.

Civic Involvement

On August 2nd through the 4th, in commemoration of the crowning of the King, the association carried out a three-day environmental campaign in the heart of our neighborhoods, under the slogan: « our environment, our life » May 25th 2003: One year after the attacks of Casablanca, march against terrorism. « Don’t touch my country ».

Artistic Activities

For the purpose of animating the nights of the Ramadan period, we organized concerts at the CURN conference center with over 200 in attendance. June 21st 2003: 22 kids from the Maillage Network participated in the organization of the music festival at the Hay Mohammadi cultural complex. August 2nd 2003: Cheb BILAL concert at Mohamed V complex; 10 of our children helped with organizing the event. April 7th - 20th 2003: Inaugural Hay Mohammadi Spring Festival; “creativity of children”.
