"Our goal is permanent protection for the last remaining wild roadless areas and free-flowing rivers in Placer County."
American River Wildlands consists of four areas containing the last of Placer County's pristine wilderness and free-flowing rivers. These four areas are: Black Oak, Duncan Canyon, North Fork American River, and Western Granite Chief addition.
American River Wildlands covers a broad range of altitude, from 2000-8000 feet, and encompasses a wide variety of Sierra wilderness.
