HERO aims at the protection of the environment by:
-promoting educational activities for healthy environmental, ecological behaviour and the maintenance of an healthy environment, raising environmental awareness and responsibility;
-evaluating the quality of the environment and the environmental hazards due to pollution;
Focused activities:
-editing materials for environmental education of children and adults;
-organising workshops for teachers, training to improve their skills in environmental education;
-organising environmental education activities for children;
-submitting quick and competent reports to the authorities and to the public regarding the environmental pollution;
-studying and improving the quality of the indoor environment in homes and work places with regard to the microclimate, radioactivity, ventilation, acoustics and human comfort in general.
-offering consultations in case of initiating potentially pollutant activities with a view to environment protection;
-elaborating recommendations regarding the issue of norms and regulations aiming at the protection of the indoor and outdoor environment
