In response to requests from local communities, Lower Trent Conservation was formed in 1968 and has played an important role in providing conservation services to help protect & manage the natural environment of the lower Trent region.



Lower Trent Conservation’s resource management program is based on several watersheds which encompass 2,121 square kilometres. The lower Trent region includes the drainage basins of the lower section of the Trent River, and smaller watercourses flowing into Rice Lake, Lake Ontario and the Bay of Quinte.
