About GUS

The social and coastal development organization Gana Unnayan Sangstha is a non-profit and non-political organization. Gana Unnayan Sangstha is a Bengali name which means Community Development Organization. The abbreviated name of the organization is GUS.



VISION

Developing environment friendly coastal zone while improving the community livelihood through local resource management.



MISSION

To motivate people for environmentally and human rights sound practices in their livelihood activities and to devise innovative methods for optimum utilization of natural and cultural resources.



Objectives

To aware the people about adverse effect of environmental damage.



To Conserve the Bio-Diversity of the Sundarban Mangrove forest.



To organize marginal people of Southwest Coastal area to conserve coastal Eco-system and Nature.



To provide all kinds of support to coastal women to develop alternative income source.



To provide skill development training to ensure alternative income source.



To organize network with coastal CBOs to create social movement for coastal environment preservation.



To develop an “Eco-Club” in every CBO in the working areas of the organization.



To conduct advocacy in respect of ensuring human and labor rights.
