About [Edit]
The American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee-San Francisco Chapter (ADC-SF) is part of a national, grassroots civil rights organization that welcomes people of all backgrounds, faiths, and ethnicities as members. Locally, the San Francisco Bay Area Chapter is actively engaged with the Arab, Muslim, and
Progressive community to:
- Build, nurture, and empower the Arab-American Community in the SF Bay Area;
- Defend civil liberties and end racial profiling and hate crimes;
- Oppose discrimination of all people;
- Oppose all war and occupation;
- Educate and advocate about Arab-American issues here and abroad;
- Committed to the establishment of an independent, democratic Palestinian state, with the right of return of all Palestinian refugees.
ADC-SF is governed by an elected 13 member board of directors who each serve one year terms. Board members come from a variety of professional backgrounds ranging from artists and students to social workers, doctors, and engineers. And while some board members are barely in their twenties, others join ADC-SF after retirement.
