About [Edit]
The Disability Rights Action Coalition for Housing is a national grassroots network of individuals with disabilities, disability advocates and organizations, and customers of federal programs, who have extensive experience in local and national housing arenas.
The coalition includes individuals, groups and advocates of persons with all types of disabilities. We operate in ways which affirm the civil and human rights of people regardless of disability, gender, race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, sexual orientation, age or color.
Goals:
*Continue development of model outreach and advocate training toward building a grassroots action coalition
*Actively train people with disabilities to participate in housing policy and related legislative processes such as development of Consolidated Plan
- participation in local and state housing groups
- delivering testimony at local, state, national levels
*Understanding and using housing laws and regulations to defend housing rights for people with disabilities
*Fair Housing Act
