About  [Edit]

AVIS Fund is working in Kyrgyz Republic (republic of former soviet union). It is a voluntary not for profit organization serving the needs of Kyrgyz people.

Background: Our team is represented by lawyers, civil law instructors and educators. In the course of our work we have published educational manuals on civil law and trial and issued a book named “Kyrgyz Republic’s Civil law”.

Objectives: Our mission is to assist Kyrgyz Republic form society free of civil rights violation.

Activities: At present moment the group is working on creation case study text book on civil trials intended to help law students better understand application of civil legislation in practice and a book on interactive methods of law education such as role- plays and simulations of civil trials for students. We also work with the problem of moral damage compensation in Kyrgyz Republic trying to provide integrated legislation base that could be used by judges, lawyers and citizens facing problems of moral damage compensation. We also conduct analysis on cases and judicial decisions concerning civil rights in the regional and supreme courts of Kyrgyz Republic. The group has submitted a proposal to the Democracy Commission at the American Embassy of Kyrgyz Republic intending to establish a center that will deal with issues of moral damage compensation and work out draft law with its future lobbying in the parliament. We also plan to work on women rights protection as these are mostly violated in our Central Asian region. We will be glad to cooperate with organizations working in the field of civil rights protectionin. We are looking forward to any comments, advice and proposals of collaboration in English or in Russian. Thank you very much for your consideration
