Asociacion Mayalán is an organization of indigenous communities in the Guatemalan highlands. We work on issues such as human rights, sustainable economic develpment, health care, education, environmental preservation in rural communities, domestic violence, and the preservation of Mayan culture and identity. Internally displaced Mayan refugees formed Mayalán after fleeing to Guatemala's capital during the civil war.
