AFLA counsels individuals and groups on human rights matters; promotes human rights awareness; publicizes human rights violations; researches human rights conditions in African countries; pressures states to comply with their international human rights obligations; analyses human rights legislation and treaties; and contributes to the development of a human rights jurisprudence for Africa.
