Our Mission:
Working for a just, equitable, peaceful, and
sustainable world and community.
The Alliance was established in 1996 as a nonprofit organization. We are a group of individuals representing many different communities, religious faiths, and advocacy groups in the Philadelphia area. The realization that our region needs an organization to focus attention on issues of sustainability brought us together.
Our approach is to provide a global context for solutions to local problems and a local context for solutions to global problems. All thengs are related and decisions we make today can affect our health and our environment tomorrow. Rather than simply stating problems, we try to emphasize solutions and present successful projects.
We are reaching out to advocacy organizations, the religious community, government, and the public to raise awareness of sustainability issues. Business, industry, and government representatives are included in our work.
