About  [Edit]

Technological innovation often changes how we do things. Occasionally, it opens up whole new possibilities. These days, cutting-edge businesses are discovering some of these new possibilities as they combine the power of technology with new “relationship marketing” strategies, allowing for highly personalized interactions with their customers. ONE/Northwest does the same in the service of social change, fusing relationship marketing techniques with tried and true methods of community organizing.

Getting the public engaged on a large scale requires the environmental community to connect with lots of different people in lots of different ways. Technology now makes that easier and more accessible than ever—if you choose the right technologies and the right strategies. ONE/Northwest is here to help with both.

Making connections is what we do.
Even though the nuts and bolts can get pretty complicated, what we do is actually fairly simple. We put communication tools into the hands of people who need them. That means environmental campaigners who are out there every day defending the public interest. And since we know first-hand what being a non-profit is all about, we work hard to make sure the tools we provide are easy, adaptable and affordable.

Online Communications
Sophisticated yet friendly website and newsletter publishing tools that keep environmental groups in touch with decision makers, the media, and the general public.
Relationship Management
Powerful, intuitive databases that allow even non-technical staff to easily strengthen and personalize relationships with supporters and volunteers.
Engagement Strategy Consulting
Strategy-planning services to help organizations better engage the public in environmental issues quickly, efficiently and with maximum impact.

We look for real results.
We try not to measure our success only by how many websites, newsletters and databases we create—although we do think the numbers are impressive! Instead, we focus on how well those tools are working. That’s why we follow up every project with a series of client assessments, to make sure that the tools we’ve provided are actually helping the people using them to reach their goals and make change happen.

You can call it teaching people how to fish. Or you can call it lighting their torches. No matter which metaphor you like the best, it all adds up to the same thing: empowering people to do things better, faster and more independently than they were able to do them before.

ONE/Northwest is a Seattle-based nonprofit that provides technology resources and expertise to environmental groups in Alaska, British Columbia, Washington, Oregon, Montana and Idaho. Since our inception in 1995, we have provided technology assistance to over 600 conservation organizations in the Pacific Northwest.

ONE/Northwest is a 501C3 nonprofit organization. We receive the majority of our financial support from foundations and individual donors, with some portion of our costs offset from fee-for-service to the groups we support.
