About  [Edit]

Mission Statement

In partnership with others, the HPI/Thailand program enables farm families with less opportunity to improve the quality of their lives by equipping them with livestock, training and technical assistance. HPI/Thailand provides opportunities for families to enhance their dignity by sharing and caring through passing on the gift in a way that is socio-economically and ecologically sound.

The focus for HPI/Thailand is the family unit which provides the foundation for just and sustainable communities. Gender-related, ethnic and other issues are addressed through family strengthening, participatory approaches, and sensitization.

In response to God's love for all people, the mission of Heifer Project International is, in partnership with others, to alleviate hunger, poverty and environmental degradation by:

- Responding to requests for development assistance, including animals, training and technical assistance, which enables families to seek self-reliance in food production and income generation on a sustainable basis.

- Enabling people to share “Passing on the Gift” in a way that enhances dignity and offers everyone the opportunity to make a difference in the struggle to alleviate hunger and poverty.

- Educating people about the root causes of hunger and poverty based on Heifer Project International's experience and insight gained from working with animals in development since 1944.

- Supporting people in sustainable development and the stewardship of the environment through responsible management of animal resources.

Heifer International Programs Department mission is to work in partnership with others to end hunger and poverty and care for the earth through the sharing of livestock and knowledge.
