About [Edit]
Action for Nature is a USA nonprofit organization that encourages young people to take personal action to better their environments and to foster love and respect for nature.
We believe that the long-term health of our planet and all who live on it depends upon reaching young people with this message:
Learn to love and respect the natural world in which you live. Do not be afraid to take action to stop or hinder the degradation of your personal environment and the annihilation of many of the creatures--including human beings--found in it.
Personal action is a powerful weapon in the battle to keep our planet alive and well. When taken, it may call attention to and even slow down a river`s pollution; it may lead to the preservation of an ancient growth of trees threatened by cutters; it may alter the odds in favor of a bird species` survival. How effective a weapon is wonderfully demonstrated in our book Acting for Nature, recently published but already a classic in its field.
At this Website, we invite young people from around the world to share stories and messages that tell of their activities in caring for the environment. We distribute their submissions through the Internet and our own publications. Our goal is to make it possible for young people everywhere to establish links and exchange information with each other about environmental matters.
