About  [Edit]

Moving Images Video Project produces and distributes television documentaries about social justice and the environment, always foregrounding the public interest.

Founded in 1987 to increase understanding in the United States of political and social issues in Central America, Moving Images later expanded to address the AIDS epidemic, labor rights and childcare, international relations in the post cold-war era, and the implications of new genetic technologies.

Recent programs:  ARGENTINA-HOPE IN HARD TIMES, NET LOSS: THE STORM OVER SALMON FARMING, HOW CAN I KEEP ON SINGING?  ANOTHER WORLD IS POSSIBLE.

Soon to be released:  ARGENTINA-TURNING AROUND, GOOD FOOD.

Many Moving Images programs have aired on PBS television stations across North America and are widely distributed to schools, libraries, and community organizations.  A number of titles are also available in Spanish.

Moving Images productions have been honored with numerous awards, including 3 prestigious CINE Golden Eagles, Gold and Silver Apples from the National Educational Media Network, and major awards from Chicago, Women in Film/Seattle, Northwest Film and Video, Houston, Columbus, Ellensburg, Hope and Dreams, and Prix Leonardo film festivals.

Chartered in the state of Washington, Moving Images Video Project is a non-profit corporation and is recognized by the U.S. Internal Revenue Service as a 501 (c)( 3) tax exempt organization.
