Sanayee Development Foundation [SDF] is an Afghan Non-Governmental Organzaition, which was established in 1990.
After 13 years of gradual but steady growth, SDF today works in the fields of Education, Peace Building, Health services, Income Generation, Skill Development, and Emergency Relief. Most of its projects are now located in Afghanistan and some in Pakistan.
Our mission: To contribute positively to the rehabilitation and development process in Afghanistan through the implementation of programs promoting peace, self-dignity,self-help and involving community participation in project identification, implementation, maintenance and evaluation.
Our objectives:
* Provide quality basic education for Afghan children without discrimination according to ethnicity and gender.
* Promote a `culture of peace` and non-violence in Afghan society by integrating peace education programs into the Afghan educational system and through the dissemination of effective publications.
* Publish materials that help to advocate issues such as peace, human rights, environmental protection, health and general knowledge.
* Provide language-learning opportunities to Afghan men and women.
* Render peace building programs, that help build a peaceful and cooperative environment, free of violence and prejudice, through workshops and publications.
* Provide skills development programs for vulnerable sections of Afghan society, with particular focus on women, children, orphans and the disabled.
* Assist the most vulnerable and affected communities through the implementation of humanitarian relief operations in emergencies.
* Foster the capacity of recipient communities and SDF staff in respond to ongoing as well as emerging challenge.
