About [Edit]
Innovation Funders Network (IFN) seeks to strengthen nonprofits and improve the people’s lives worldwide through the innovative use of information and communication technology. We bring together those working with technology to advance social change.
IFN’s role.:
Our mission is to advance grantmaking across sectors to increase knowledge, advocate best practices and fund projects that use information and communication technology to strengthen nonprofits and improve the lives of communities and people worldwide.
Our principles:
- Strategic use of information and communication technology (ICT) can give organizations a powerful resource to enhance their community improvement efforts.
- Grantmakers are uniquely positioned as community leaders with financial resources to help nonprofit organizations and others take advantage of these tools to advance their mission.
- Technology-related grantmaking requires new funding approaches that address the extended time it takes to deploy technology projects, the total cost of technology, the need for strategic technology plans and development of technology support providers to serve nonprofits.
- Grantmakers should emphasize capacity-building through improvement of administrative and programmatic activities and recognize that information and communications technology has profound impacts on organizational culture.
- Facilitating change and leveraging technology-related funding for wider impact requires that grantmakers work collaboratively with foundations, nonprofits, companies, governments and others both domestically and internationally.

WiserEarth's mission is to provide a catalyst for the activities of non-profits, NGOs, community organizations and the like. Fair trade businesses are a good thing to support, WE however has chosen not to include any for-profit businesses in it's organizational listings. Stay tuned for developments in the WiserBusiness project!

Hello,
Through Wiser Earth I have become aware of your organization and would be very interested to learn more. I work for an innovative nonprofit in Silver Spring, MD (Greater Washington DC area) serving homeless or at risk of homelessness families. We have a pilot program providing our transitional housing and comprehensive social services (3 year program) to women with custody of their children coming out of the Pre-Release Center of the local women's prison.
Unfortunately when I clicked on the link to your website it comes up in German and my command of that language is nowhere near good enough to navigate and understand the site and its contents. I would appreciate knowing how to access your site in English.
Thanks, Sandra Miller
