The Indian Society for Ecological Economics (INSEE) was established in New Delhi (India) on September 24, 1998.
It was registered as a Society under the Societies Act in January 1999. It is a regional society affiliated to the International Society for Ecological Economists ISEE.
It aims to further the cause of sustainable development by providing a forum for continuous dialogue among scholars, practitioners and policy analysts working on different aspects of the economy, ecology and the environment.
(b) Organising and promoting activities, highlighting the relevance ecological economics for sustainable development & environmental conservation..
(c) Publishing INSEE News Letter, which will disseminate information about the activities and achievements of society and new developments in the field of ecological economics.
(d) Organising seminars, workshops, training programme as necessary and networking nationally and internationally through electronic mails and other means.
(e) Organising INSEE Biennial conferences on Ecological Economics.
(f) Promoting membership and participation in international and other programmes of INSEE.
(g) To receive any aid or grants from the government and/or from other funding agencies for the purposes of the fulfilment of the aims and objects of the Society.
INSEE works to disseminate the results of research and its policy implications to national and international bodies (governmental and non-governmental) through multiple avenues such a conferences, workshops, networking and publications
