European Institute for Progressive Cultural Policies

This is an independent institute with the aim of an enhanced networking and radical democratisation of European cultural policy.

Progressive cultural policy signifies a process-related development of the debate on culture and cultural policy instruments which is not steered (only) by the national and transnational administrative apparatuses, but by the players in the field of culture.

The fields of action of the Institute range from the critical further development of specific funding programmes to criticism of conservative concepts of cultural identity and representation and to a sustainable embedding of the aspects of cultural policy in progressive concepts of democratic policy.
