Nevo, as we like to call it, was founded by two Peruvian professionals, Ximena Querol and Carolina Benavides, who inspired by their experience as volunteers and students in the US and Europe decided to create a program to promote effective voluntary work.

 

Nexos Voluntarios is a non-profit, non-governmental organization that provides individuals the opportunity to make a significant contribution to the development of Peru´s poorest communities by living and working as volunteers in both urban and rural settings. To do so, NeVo has created a network of non-profits, private corporations, local and foreign universities, and international organizations, all of which participate in the volunteers´ work in the country.

 

Nexos Voluntarios offers a comprehensive and personalized service; matching the specific interests of the volunteer with a wide variety of non-profit development projects. We offer placements in projects related to education, health care, environment, micro and small business, human rights, technology and fine arts. 

 

Volunteers receive orientation and field support in order to help them make an impact that will last long after they leave. Supporting our gold-standard program, Nexos Voluntarios offers our guest volunteers room and board with exceptional Peruvian host-families and a top of the line Spanish-conversation program for interested students.
