Vision Statement:
Holcomb Farm Learning Centers is recognized as a premier learning organization because it:
- Promotes preservation and responsible use of resources of the historic Holcomb Farm landmark
- Provides quality and diversity through its programs and people
- Fosters environmental, artistic and agricultural learning experiences that promote ecological awareness and multicultural celebration
Mission Statement:
To enhance the lives of the Greater Hartford Community by providing environmental, artistic and agricultural experiences that promote ecological and historical appreciation of the land.
Where art meets nature:
Holcomb Farm Learning Centers:
Nature Center - nature programs offered to school groups, scout groups, and to the public
Arts Center - arts programs offered to school groups and to the public
Farm animals - including Shetland and Jacobs' sheep, rabbits, and chickens
Gardens - we have a Colonial Fiber and Dye garden and a Native American Three Sister's Garden
Hiking trails - public trails on 320 acres
Indoor animals - including ball python and an iguana and more
Picnic Areas - bring a picnic and listen to the bird songs
Salmon Brook - meanders its way through the Farm's property
Vernal Pool - temporary "puddle" where many salamanders lay eggs annually
Wigwam - replica of Native American home
