Background:



The Centro de Investigaciones Juridicas de la Universidad de Panama conducts research on various aspects of Panamanian legislation.



Activities:



Recent studies have included works on the treatment of prisoners, prison regimes, and the situation of juveniles. The Center has given special emphasis to the protection of human rights. One study, undertaken in collaboration with the International University of Florida and the University of Montreal, is considered the most serious recent examination of the administration of justice in Panama.
