About [Edit]

OUR VISION
The Will Steger Foundation has seen firsthand the dramatic affects of global warming on both the environment and the human condition. With that knowledge, we are leading humanity to solve our climate change challenge.
WHAT WE DO
Our polar expeditions offer a unique view of people and places on the front lines of global warming. Supported by robust educational and public policy initiatives, we are making a tangible impact on public awareness concerning the threat of global climate change. To advance state and federal policy that addresses solutions to global warming, we are mobilizing the public and elected officials through the compelling narrative and credibility of the eyewitness account.
The Will Steger Foundation supports responsible and sustainable stewardship of our planet by presenting facts in context with the stories and images of the people and places impacted by global warming. Visit www.globalwarming101.com to learn more about our free global warming curriculum, resources, tools for action, and exciting polar expeditions.

2008 ELLESMERE ISLAND EXPEDITION
Four Nations One Task
Will Steger and 6 young explorers from Canada, Great Britain, Norway, and the U.S. will embark on a two month dogsled expedition across Ellesmere Island in the Canadian High Arctic in March 2008. The team will document the impact of global warming on the fragile northern ice sheets and the endangered Peary Caribou Herd, as they retrace hisrtorical expedition routes across extreme Arctic terrain. Weekly dispatches will be featured on www.globalwarming101.com though film, audio, and text.
ACTION STORIES PROJECT
The Action Stories Project is an exciting opportunity for young adults around the globe, between the ages of 17 and 27, to showcase their initiatives aimed at slowing global warming. The stories will be featured on the www.globalwarming101.com homepage and include film, photographs, and text. Action stories will be told in first person, and connect when possible to stories and reflection coming back in dispatches from young expedition members during Will Steger’s 2008 Ellesmere Island expedition to the Canadian Arctic. Share you action story at yourstory@willstegerfoundation.org.
