Mission

To explore, enjoy, and protect the wild places of the earth; to practice and promote the responsible use of the earth`s ecosystems and resources; to educate and enlist humanity to protect and restore the quality of the natural and human environment; and to use all lawful means to carry out those objectives.



Through grassroots activism, public education, lobbying and litigation, the Sierra Club works to protect the health of our environment and the preserve our remaining wild places.



The Los Padres Chapter serves Ventura and Santa Barbara counties in Southern California. The chapter includes four geographical groups. The Arguello Group serves northern Santa Barbara County while the Santa Barbara Group serves the south county. Northern Ventura County is served by the Sespe Group while the south county is served by the Conejo Group
