About [Edit]
Mission and Philosophy
Education for Development (EdforDev) is a non-profit organization dedicated to the development of human potential through education.
In partnership with national and international classrooms, organizations and individuals, Education for Development supports human development. Through the support of education, cultural exchange and service programs in both the US and abroad, we assist in the development of a new generation of compassionate and intellectual leaders who understand the value of a diverse global community.
We Believe
Education is a basic human right.
Education and service are integral to a person’s ability to realize his or her potential and to develop an appreciation for the human community.
The systemic lack of access to education for women and girls must be ameliorated in order to develop an equitable global learning community.
Individuals and institutions involved in EdforDev programs must participate as partners not beneficiaries and benefactors.
Projects developed outside the U.S. should be initiated by local communities, with EdforDev serving as a support for communities’ own visions of their future.
