About [Edit]
Journey to the Heart is dedicated to the protection and promotion of indigenous traditions and healing systems through cross-cultural awareness and the formation of collaborative partnerships with people of diverse teachings and spiritual traditions based on the principle of spiritual ecology.
Journey to the Heart (JTTH) is focused on three areas: cross-cultural events, cultural exchange programs and professional networking.
JTTH EVENTS are thematically focused experiential events designed to bring together speakers/participants from indigenous communities around the world to an enclave setting with residency provided for all participants and guests. Members of the indigenous groups engage in dialogue among themselves for several days and then are joined by guests who come to be educated around traditional methods for sustainable living, healing systems of the individual and the eco-system, sacred ways, land rights and conflict resolution techniques.
Our CULTURAL EXCHANGE PROGRAMS focus on developing relationships among key leaders from radically diverse cultures so they may explore contemporary challenges facing indigenous communities and their core systems. These relationships are formed in western style meetings and/or traditional talking circles hosted by schools and universities, hospitals, clinics, and related health systems, entrepreneur and business groups, and groups who champion the restoring of the social fabric through education, sustainable development, appropriate technologies, and the preservation of eco-systems
JTTH NETWORKING provides links to resources for indigenous communities to assist them in developing local and regional programs and projects, in responding to initiatives proposed by governmental agencies and in crafting original, culturally specific solutions to issues as they are identified. This assistance includes the ability to connect local producers with responsible exporters, to connect those business ideas with financial resources, and to address community defined social needs with supportive expertise.
JTTH is based on the intention to create global cultures and technologies that help human communities to build sustainable lifestyles and a balanced relationship with the environment. This approach has been typical of all indigenous peoples since the earliest recorded history and is often referred to as spiritual ecology.
