About BEN
Our mission is to help transform the role of corporations in society by building the capacity of our members in their corporate campaign work, by providing education, facilitating collaboration, and increasing recognition of their campaign successes with the funding community and the public.
BEN strengthens the ties between individuals and organizations interested in bringing corporations back under the control of civil society by providing them access to a growing library of materials that include (but are not limited to);
- Legal and legislative issues
- Global campaigning communities
- Media and other tools to strenthen a campaign
- How to start, run and strengthen a campaign - Corporate Campaign University
BEN also provides a communication network of like minded and active people who have the experience and dedication to make positive change in how corproate entities treat us and our communities.
If you or your organization are interested in joining BEN, please contact

I am in the process of posting a backlog of audio commentaries, and preparing for the new round this year. These commentaries in collaboration with SeaChange/Corporate Watchdog Radio and are unbelievable good for giving insight and updates, as well as framing the topics in a most accessible way. Check them out at BEN or at SeaChange!

BEN has some phenomenal campaigner resources in the pipeline for 2009. The new call schedule has some of the powerhouses of successful campaigns, and the toolkits for BEN members are shaping up to be a campaigners "one-stop" resource (because the campaigner community has really kicked in on this resource development need).
If you are campaigning or thinking about campaigning or organizing, BEN's new member area is going to make you feel even more empowered. Between WE and BEN, campaigners and socially minded people who know that ACTION is needed are in for a real treat!
Can anyone tell I am excited!
Let's go change the world! |

Wow! It is phenomenal to have the power of the WE community already filtering through here! It seems the corporate goal of controlling and directing policy at every level has been made almost entirely transparent to such a wide audience that we can finally gain the desired critical mass to direct our intentions and energies in a stable and sustainable manner. This is indeed my hope, so I thank you for voicing your thoughts here.
David, I have forwarded your information to MY community manager, Anne Pernick. You should contact her directly at apernick at corpethics dot org if you are interested in BEN. Thanks so much for the link to your resources.
Chris~ - I am following your approach entirely. Local entrepreneurship to develop local economy - especially as regards food production - is something in which I have great interest. I am especially thankful for the links for the microinvest networks.
let's do it! |

Interested to Connect. I believe we need to audit, as well as propagate large scale conversations , responsiblity at Global Industry Sector level. Corporate SR is not an effective system level to intervene at to have transformational impact. One example of intervening at Global Sector level is Dr Yunus' maps of future capitalism partners. A partner is challenged to innovate with Yunus's 25000 microinvestment network a best for the world application of the sector
The current implosion of the global financial sector redouubles the urgency and human validity of your work imo

Hallo all! I am trying to get the juggling act going so that communication is smoother - and more relevant and frequent. For now, the big ticket item is:
BEN conference registration is open for all you campaigners out there!! Get on the registration early before the end of "early registration period."
REGISTER NOW and get your campaigns rolling!!
The other announcement for now is that I will be working on getting the remaining BEN network members all networked together through this BEN social area - that means roughly 390 more organizations need to be tied in together. I am hoping that being laced together here will help each individual organization's listing across WiserEarth. This network and all the BEN members do such a phenomenal amount of dedicated work that they deserve to have as great a reach as is possible. Networking is not just about showing a good front of people communicating digitally, but about doing good work where we play and live.
thank you!
