About [Edit]

The Peace Diplomacy Institute (PDI) is a nonprofit NGO set up to encourage every world citizen to be involved in peace diplomacy. We believe that everyone has a right and responsibility to engage in peacebuilding and be counted as diplomats of peace. Peace diplomacy is all about peacebuilding (single-focus) and can be carried out through various channels (multi-track). Track 1 is the domain of governmental diplomats, while Track 2 and beyond are channels for nongovernmental diplomats. The concept of a multi-track diplomacy was developed by the founders of the Institute for Multi-Track Diplomacy, Ambassador John W. McDonald and Dr. Louise Diamond (see http://www.imtd.org).
PDI's main task is to equip global citizens with the knowledge and skills to engage in peacebuilding work. It aims to also initiate research, set up forums and strategic dialogues, and be involved in conflict resolution.
