An interdisciplinary university institution, the iuéd is focused on the study of economic, ecological, social, political and cultural change affecting human societies in a context of globalisation. The iuéd concentrates on the analysis of development phenomena around the world, paying particular attention to transformations in the countries of the South and in the changing relations between the North and South.

A critical approach to today’s realities is based on both theoretical research and practical experience of the problems of development.
