About  [Edit]

The Moratorium Campaign is working with renewed vigor to deepen the discourse around the death penalty and to bring about moratoria across the USA.

We see a number of states, including New Mexico, New Jersey and New York, seriously contemplating either a moratorium or the complete abolition of the death penalty. We see the number of innocent people exonerated from death row now 117 and growing. We see mounting evidence that convinces even proponents of the death penalty that the system is seriously flawed.

Here, at The Moratorium Campaign, we are working to see every state declare a moratorium on executions. We are currently mapping out a plan of action to help people throughout the country take solid, practical steps towards achieving a moratorium in their state.

As part of that plan of action, we are redesigning and refocusing this Web site. So please check back soon to find out what you can do to help end state killings
