The aim of Smogbusters is to:



- work with the community to improve urban air quality and reduce greenhouse gases

- encourage the use of more sustainable and environmentally friendly forms of transport such as walking, cycling, bus, train and tram use.

The benefits of sustainable transport use include:



- reducing traffic emissions and providing cleaner air to breathe, along with reducing greenhouse gases

- boosting our individual health, as we improve our levels of daily activity,

creating more cohesive communities, as we are more likely to meet one another while walking or cycling around, and we become more visible on the streetscape.

- reducing noise pollution and traffic accidents

- improving equity of access to transport options
