Bat World South Indy started in 2005. Director Terri Warne, naturalist at Brown County State Park, works closely with Laura Hohman of Bat World Hoosier Hills to assure Indiana has a team of rehabilitators to assist in the rescue of injured bats.



Federal Endangered :



Any species that is in danger of extinction throughout all or a significant portion of its range



State Endangered



Any animal species whose prospects for survival or recruitment within the state are in immediate jeopardy and are in danger of disappearing from the state. This includes the federal endangered bats that occur in Indiana.



State Special Concern



Any animal species about which some problems of limited abundance or distribution in Indiana are known or suspected and should be closely monitored.*
