ABOUT ANIMAL ALLIANCE OF CANADA
"Animal Protection through Education and Advocacy"
Animal Alliance of Canada is committed to the protection of all animals and the promotion of a harmonious relationship among people, animals and the environment.
Animal Alliance of Canada brings together dedicated professionals with proven records in animal protection. Together we work on local, national, and international educational and legislative advocacy initiatives to protect animals and our environment.
With increasing numbers of individuals recognizing that animals are not ours to kill, eat, wear, experiment upon or exploit for entertainment, Animal Alliance of Canada has quickly become a respected and powerful force. Please join us.
Animals are abused and neglected as pets, killed when there is a surplus, seized from shelters for experimentation, hunted for sport, used cruelly in entertainment, confined in zoos and collections, raised, transported and killled under horrific conditions for their flesh, force-fed consumer products and killed for their fur.
Animals are used in every conceivable manner
- the overt cruelty
And as humans continue to pollute the world and destroy natural environments, animals also die
- the hidden cruelty.
Our Plan of Action
Research and Investigation:
Animal Alliance of Canada investigates the conditions under which millions of animals suffer each day using industry contracts, unannounced visits, literature surveys and freedom of information legislation.
Education and Advocacy:
Animal Alliance of Canada has consistently and aggressively exposed the facts about animal abuse to our supporters, the public, the media, government, schools and the business community. We`ve made solid allies and formed effective coalitions through the use of information packages and displays, networking, symposia and special events. We`ve sponsored advertisements, media conferences, feature speakers and public service announcements. Our publications include our newsletter TakeAction, a variety of factsheets, legislative updates and opinion editorials.
Legislation:
Animal Alliance of Canada is a federally incorporated, primarily volunteer organization. We have chosen to register as a non-profit organization, as charities are substantially restricted in their ability to lobby for legislative change.
Our focus on long-term legislative advocacy for all animals fills a unique niche in Canada.
