The Northwest Territories Chapter of the Canadian Parks and Wilderness Society CPAWS-NWT is part of a national non-profit conservation organization dedicated to protecting Canada's wilderness.
CPAWS-NWT's three main conservation goals are:
- conserving the natural and cultural values of the Mackenzie Valley;
- conserving the natural and cultural values of the Mackenzie Mountains, and
- keeping Great Bear Lake clean and bountiful for all time.
