About [Edit]
Founded in 1989, Equity Foundation works to promote philanthropy and positive interaction through grants and outreach to organizations targeting service to people who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender or queer (LGBTQ) and other organizations that support equal opportunity for all people, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity.
Opportunities for giving to Equity Foundation include general cash gifts, donor-advised funds, planned giving, workplace giving, and scholarships.
The foundation works to promote social justice, education, and welfare of the g/l/b/t communities and of the people of Oregon in general by providing support to nonprofit organizations throughout the state.
Principles of Equity Foundation
- Equity Foundation seeks to build a more just and inclusive society. Equity Foundation believes:
- All people have worth and deserve the opportunity to experience it.
- Human potential flourishes when there is acceptance, mutual respect, and love.
- We must challenge all prejudice and intolerance, including our own.
- People have the right to live openly and participate fully in family and community.
- Lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender people make unique contributions to the world, and have a responsibility to do so.
