educates peasant farmers on modern farming methods in order to conserve the fertility of the soil and prevent the effects of desertification; undertakes projects to obtain adequate techniques for tree plantations and tree nurseries for horticulture; undertakes campaigns to protect wildlife in particular areas of the country; and raises awareness on the UNCCD among the population through campaigns, courses and meetings.
