Mission
SWAA's mission is to advocate on behalf of women, children and families in the fight against HIV/AIDS. SWAA mobilizes communities by strengthening capacity to prevent, control, and mitigate the impact of the epidemic.
Vision
SWAA's institutional vision is a world free of HIV/AIDS, where African women and children are empowered to claim equal rights, access to health care, education, and economic and socio-cultural opportunities.
Activities:
Prevention:
women education, youth sensitization, sex workers sensitization, male and female condom promotion and distribution, community mobilization for voluntary testing, income generation activities for vulnerable girls and women, media ….
Care, support and treatment:
VCT centres organized, social support to PLWA and OVC, care and treatment, ARV, nutrition, home visits, counselling, national AIDS hotline, social mobilization against stigma…
Capacity building, networking, partnership with the national AIDS Council/Program, activism, lobbying, advocacy, resource mobilization, etc…
