About [Edit]
The Gilman Housing Trust is the largest rural regional housing non-profit organization in Vermont. From our offices in Newport, Vermont, GHT serves the Northeast Kingdom counties of Essex, Orleans, and Caledonia, combining sound and innovative approaches to solving Vermont’s housing challenges. Celebrating our 20th year, GHT continues the work of improving the quality of life for seniors, families, and people with physical and mental disabilities through an inclusive, member-based approach to affordable housing and community development. We preserve historic buildings and revitalize neighborhoods. Our programs assist low-income Vermonters to stabilize their lives by creating safe, decent and permanently affordable housing and community facilities.
Our regional HomeOwnership Center located in Lyndonville works to empower low and moderate-income Vermonters to become financially self-sufficient, to gain a stake in their communities, and to build secure futures for themselves and their children through the economic benefits of homeownership. As part of the nationwide NeighborWorks® system, the HomeOwnership Center can assist you with several important programs.
