The national American Civil Liberties Union was founded in 1920 by a group of men and women working to protect the rights of conscientious objectors. Today, there are affiliates in every state.



CIVIL LIBERTIES :

ACLU Delaware helps citizens by investigating, evaluating, and if necessary, litigating claims that their civil liberties have been infringed. ACLU Delaware accepts cases concerning civil liberties only. First priority is given to cases affecting a significant segment of our community.



PUBLIC EDUCATION:



ACLU Delaware sponsors programs aimed at disseminating information to the public about civil liberties issues.





LEGISLATIVE ACTIVITY



ACLU Delaware's Board of Directors monitors legislation proposed in the Delaware General Assembly. They watch for bills with a potential impact on civil liberties.
