The Confraternidad Carcelaria del Ecuador (CCE), founded in 1984, is a voluntary organization of individuals committed to working for prison reform and rehabilitation of prisoners.



It supports numerous activities toward these ends, including:



(1) consciousness raising of the general populace about prison conditions,



(2) meetings with various church leaders to coordinate their ministries to prisons,



(3) seminars for prisoners,



(4) service projects for communities,



(5) programs to assist families of prisoners, and



(6) programs to prepare prisoners for liberty following completion of their prison terms.
