About  [Edit]

Menschen für Menschen Foundation (People for People) is a politically, religiously and economically independent charity founded by Karlheinz Boehm in 1981 supporting self-development in Ethiopia. A team of 780 (only 5 Europeans) runs integrated projects in nine Ethiopian regions, to date: 1,333 water outlets, 93 million trees planted, 3 hospitals and 86 medical centers built, 65,203 participants in farming courses, 12,994 personal loans to women, and 32,505 women in further education. http://en.menschenfuermenschen.com.

This entire project is led by a man of integrity, Karlheinz Boehm, who used his filmstar fame and fortune from 1950 to 1980 to contribute real change in Ethiopia. Since 1981 Karlheinz Boehm has worked on a purely voluntary basis, without a salary or fee. “The little word RAGE gives me motivation,” Boehm explains, “Rage about the unjust and inhuman discrepancies between poor and rich.”
