Purpose Statement

The Civil Liberties Union of Harvard is dedicated to advancing the civic values of a free and democratic society. Our activities aim to promote discussion of civil liberties issues, to safeguard the individual rights and liberties guaranteed to all persons, and to increase awareness of the importance of civil liberties. A nonpartisan organization, neither liberal nor conservative, we welcome members of all political leanings who believe, as we do, that a right denied to one person is a right lost to us all.
