About [Edit]
When the UN Association first sponsored a Year of the Tree campaign in 1982 (responding to concern about tree loss), no-one imagined they were sparking the creation of what is now a national non-government Federation of 300 staff in 80 locations around Australia. Likewise, few people foresaw that Greening Australia would grow beyond its initial narrow emphasis on tree planting to embrace environmental issues as diverse and challenging as water quality and salinity, biodiversity and community capacity building.
Greening Australia NSW as specialists in native vegetation management and nature conservation, is committed to on-ground implementation, training, education and contributing to the development of skills and knowledge in the community. Our representation in local and regional NSW allows us to work closely with communities to identify their needs and implement responses.
