LFPA is a Non Governmental Organization (NGO) licensed and granted the Public Interest Status since 1978. The association is a member of the International Planned Parenthood Federation, Arab World Region (IPPF/AWR).
LFPA is keen on sustaining the association’s pioneer role on the national level. This role is accentuated through the participation in a distinguished network with various governmental and non-governmental agencies, which can be identified as follows:
Mission And Goals
Mission:
Advocate and Promote Human Rights emphasizing women and youth issues within the framework of sexual and reproductive health. Continue to provide high quality sexual and reproductive health services. Enhance the institutional capacity of the association including the development of baseline data to assess and address unmet needs working towards a balanced sustainable human development. Collaborate and Coordinate with all interested governmental and non-governmental parties to realize the challenges of this mission.
Goals:
- Advocate for the right of women and men, including young people to the highest possible level of sexual and reproductive health.
- Increase the knowledge and access to high quality sexual and reproductive health services including family planning giving emphasis to adolescents, and the prevention of STDs and AIDs.
- Strive for the elimination of discrimination against women emphasizing woman’s image in schoolbooks, and promote gender equality among educational bodies, women institutions, the public sector and all levels of the FPA including the fieldworkers.
- Increase the access of young people to appropriate information, education, and actively involve them in the FPA’s activities and programs, which address their reproductive and sexual health care needs.
- Strengthen and develop the association’s capacity and resources to create and manage sustainable programs within the framework of the FPA’s mission and goals.
