OBJECTIVES

(i)To develop solidarity among older people.

(ii)To serve as the direct voice of older people, to represent their needs, including the interests of the less articulate and more vulnerable sections of

the elderly population, and to campaign on their behalf.

(iii) To serve as an information centre for individuals and organisations, to promote and encourage activities aimed at improving the lives of older people, with the emphasis on self-help; to promote independence, dignity and purpose for older people, thereby creating an environment in which the value, and the capacity of, older people will be recognised by the community and by the older people themselves.
