About [Edit]
Habitat Media is a 501(c) (3), non-profit organization specializing in the production of media that educate viewers about the need for sustainable development, programs intended also to inspire their participation.
Steve Cowan, Director of Habitat Media, and Barry Schienberg, Director of Photography, have written and edited award-winning documentaries on marine conservation issues including Empty Oceans, Empty Nets and Ancient Sea Turtles, Stranded in a Modern World. Associate Producers Rivkah Beth Medow and Julie Yoon provide production management, technical support, office management, media outreach and development.
To date, Habitat Media has produced landmark documentaries that have inspired viewers to become more responsible consumers and more active citizens. We believe that there is a large and growing U.S. audience, with a burgeoning contingent of young people, who are looking for more meaningful programs, people who are beginning to sense that global problems cannot be solved without the greater involvement of "ordinary" people.
