About  [Edit]

The Hollyhock Leadership Institute [a project of the Sage Centre] provides training and strategic support to people working for environmental and social change.  We build alliances, catalyze new visions and re-kindle inspiration.  Our programing combines skills training and strategy development, creating a synergistic blend not seen in other capacity building organizations.  We help people become more effective, whatever their role.  Equally important, we encourage people to work in a way that is personally sustainable over the long haul.

Our programs are made accessible to a wide range of people and organizations through subsidized rates.  We hold our programs in restorative settings, and always include an opportunity for participants to reconnect with the passion that drives their work.

We believe that social movements will triumph through skilled, strategic and inspired leadership.  The Hollyhock Leadership Institute builds those leaders.

A Record of Success

Established in 1997, the Hollyhock Leadership Institute has grown to become a recoganized leader in capacity-building.  We have trained more than 1000 people from a broad spectrum of organizations and communities - from BC, across Canada and from key US constituencies.

We have a strong committment to working with First Nations and developing cooperative strategies between First Nations, social justice groups and the environmental movement.

Our programs have tremendous reach, building bridges across issues, cultural differences, and geographic areas, as well as between grassroots, national and international organizations.
