Women's Land and Water Rights in Southern Africa (WLWRSA) is a regional organisation, founded in 2002and registered in 2003 under a Deed of trust in Zimbabwe (Deed No: 1094/2003). The organisation was established to advocate for women's land rights at national and regional levels, to enhance their contribution to food security and sustainable livelihoods.
Our Vision is Integrated land, water, gender and related rights in southern Africa.
Our Mission Statement is "To enable women to attain food security and sustainable livelihoods and development through access to, control and ownership of land and water in southern Africa."
The Vision and Mission Statements are supported by four Strategic Goals, which are:
- Integrate land and water resource rights in women’s agricultural development for the attainment of household food security and sustainable livelihoods.
- Enhance women's access to, control and ownership of land and water rights in southern Africa through, national, sub regional and continental policies.
- Contribute to the promulgation, harmonisation and implementation of gender sensitive legislation on land and water resources at the national, regional and continental levels. - Enhance the capacity of the organisation.
