Pathways To Peace [PTP] is an international PeaceBuilding, Educational and Consulting organization.

Mission

The mission of Pathways To Peace is threefold:
-- to expand the comprehension and substantive expression of "PEACE" and PeaceBuilding practices at all levels;

-- to build Cultures of Peace by uniting and enhancing the strengths of existing organizations and programs along eight paths to Peace;

-- to contribute, through consultation and direct participation, to the evolving mission of the United Nations and to citizens` worldwide participation in the International Day of Peace.

The mission of Pathways To Peace is accomplished through its projects and consulting services. Current projects which demonstrate the practical aspects of Peace include: Culture of Peace Initiative, Institute for PeaceBuilding, The Joan Kenley Show, Events with Peace Leaders and PTP Consulting & Mentoring Programme.

What we do

Pathways To Peace works locally and globally to accomplish its mission. One of the ways in which we build Peace is by collaborating with other organizations in various initiatives. Pathways To Peace is also an active participant in conferences at the United Nations, where we speak about the principles and practices of Peacebuilding.

Current projects and services include:

Culture of Peace Initiative (CPI) - On a global scale, PTP serves as International Secretariat for the Culture of Peace Initiative, (formerly,"We The Peoples" Initiative), a multicultural, intergenerational, citizens movement of established groups and organisations cooperating to build a Culture of Peace and to make Peace a practical reality in the 21st Century. Granted official "Peace Messenger Initiative" status by the U.N., this PeaceBuilding Initiative contributes to the evolving mission of the U.N. and to the direct participation of young people in strategic decisions affecting the quality of life for the children of this and future generations. International Peace Day (Peace Day) September 21st is the annual period for Participating Organisations to highlight local/global progress towards Peace along diverse paths.  Join the Culture of Peace Initiative's WiserEarth group.

  •  Peacebuilding Through Business (PTB)
Our mission is: To inspire the practice of sustainable Peace as a natural expression of business in the 21st century. The focus is to identify and better understand peace and business, and where we find the intersection of the two. Pivotal to this inquiry is identifying the "peace practices" now evident in business, and demonstrate the practicality of peace within organizations and on local, national and international levels. Building upon 15 years of prior work through PTP's Peace Within Organizations and PeaceBuilding In the 21st Century (PB-21) projects, we are now launching Phase Three of this project. With a current focus in Southern Oregon, and Guanajuato Mexico, local and national advisory councils are being organized to guide Phase Peace Building Through Business.

  •  PACEM - Pathways Consulting, Educating & Mentoring
PACEM's range of services include: consulting with civil society organizations on Peacebuilding practices, mentoring young people in Peace leadership and working with the United Nations.

IPB works with schools, communities and organizations to offer new ways of resolving conflicts and building long-term conflict prevention.

  •   Events with Peace Leaders
A series of inspirational events where Peace Leaders from different sectors of society talk about their visions of Peace and how to work towards Peace.

  •   "The Joan Kenley Show" Dr. Joan Kenley hosts this show on pod casts. The show is designed to touch your mind, body, heart and soul.

"Peace," as defined by Pathways To Peace, is both an innate state of being and a dynamic, evolving process. Peace begins with ourselves; living in harmony with one another, the Earth, and all Circles of Life. PTP’s operating principle-in-action is:

"Acting in concert, we do make a difference in the quality of our lives, our institutions, our environment and our planetary future. Through cooperation, we manifest the essential spirit that unites us amidst our diverse ways."

PTP has Consultative Status with the United Nations (ECOSOC), (DPI). PTP was granted official UN Peace Messenger status in 1987.

Hey, Congratulations to Pathways to Peace and the International Day of Peace.  This is Dr. Kurt Johnson a member of the UN NGO Committee for the International Day of Peace and one of the organizers of the group here at WiserEarth.org called "New York City Metro Coalition".  We just completed 3 days of International Day of Peace events, our Cosmis Mass with Matthew Fox on Friday night, at Landmark on the Park, our World Shift to Peace Festival with Keynote by Matthew Fox on Sat. and today's event at East West Books on Peace and the Divine Masculine and Sacred Feminine, again a discussion with Matthew Fox and 5 other NYC interspiritual leaders.  Really happy the WiserEarth home page feature came off, and thanks to those who helped up make the arrangement!

best

Kurt
